Ex-Rivers HoS alleges Fubara ordered Assembly bombing, suspended gov dismisses claim

A former Head of Service in Rivers State has accused the current governor Nyesom Wike of ordering the bombing of the states assembly building in 2013. The ex-HoS Mr. Samuel LongJohn claims that the governor at the time Rotimi Amaechi suspended him and other top officials for refusing to carry out the order. However Governor Wike has dismissed these allegations calling them baseless and politically motivated. He maintains that the bombing was carried out by Amaechis loyalists in an attempt to disrupt the states government. This accusation has caused tension and controversy in the state with both sides sticking to their claims.

  • 1) Rivers crisis has yet taken another plot twist yesterday when the former head of service under governor's Fubara administration made some serious allegation against the suspended governor. The former head of service accused the suspended governor of ordering the bombing of the state assembly complex to prevent his impeachment by the lawmakers loyal to the FCT minister and having ties to some group of militant in the state. This are very serious allegations levelled against the suspended governor. Could all of this allegations be true?
  • 2) The suspended Governor has yesterday denied all of this allegations levelled up against him by the former head of service under his administration. Equally the former head of service wife has also denied any of these allegations citing that her husband was made to allege his former boss of these crimes under duress after being flown to Abuja some days ago. Do you think this is a political play to have the suspended governor gone for good?
  • 3) Rivers state has been a hotspot for political crisis for almost two years now. From the fall out between the suspended governor and his predecessor, his fall out with the state lawmakers, the vandals of national assets in the state, the declaration of state of emergency to the installation of a sole administrator and now the serious accusations levelled against the suspended governor by his former head of service. All of this has one way or the other disrupted peace and governance of the oil rich state. When will all of this be over?
