Amotekun Nabs 28 Members of Kidnap Syndicate in Ondo

In April 2025 the Amotekun security outfit in Ondo State Nigeria successfully apprehended 28 members of a notorious kidnap syndicate. The syndicate was responsible for several kidnapping cases in the state and had been a major source of concern for residents. The Amotekun operatives who had been on the trail of the syndicate for weeks finally caught up with them and arrested all 28 members. The suspects were immediately handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution. The successful operation was a major victory for the Amotekun security outfit and brought relief to the people of Ondo State.

  • 1) This is yet another tremendous achievement by the south western state owned security personnel (Amotekun). This arrest came shortly after the sequent attack in the villages in Ondo state recently where none of the federal owned security operatives have made any arrest yet on the case. Do you think Amotekun should be supported by the federal government to enhance safety on the citizens in remotes areas where police don't have access to?
  • 2) Many are now saying on the internet that the government are deliberately slacking on making any arrest or interest in the case looking at the timely progress Amotekun had made on the case so far. Do you also believe this to be true?
