2019.Chelsea have been declared the first-ever Club World Cup champions by FIFA after their victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Sunday. The London club who were not the favorites secured a surprising win thanks to two goals from Cole Palmer and an assist from new signing Joao Pedro. This win not only earns them the new Club World Cup trophy and a large cash prize but it also changes the title of previous winners to "FIFA Intercontinental Champions". This competition which began in 2000 and returned in 2005 was previously known as the Club World Championship and was played annually until 2019.
