Obi: Votes Must Count In 2027 (New Telegraph)

The former governor of Anambra State Peter Obi has emphasized the importance of every vote counting in the 2027 general elections in Nigeria. Obi who was the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections stated this during a virtual conference organized by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD). He urged Nigerians to be actively involved in the electoral process and ensure that their votes are counted. Obi also stressed the need for electoral reforms and the use of technology to ensure transparency and credibility in the electoral process. He believes that every vote should count and that citizens should demand accountability from their leaders.

    Still really not sure Nigerians trust the electoral system anymore Myself included. The 2023 election was met by so many irregularities, ranging from the polling place to the collation center and to the inec server.

    This same bvas was the system the inec introduced before the election that it will take data and store them only for them to announce to us that the server was down during the election and didn’t come up until the whole election thing was over. I don’t personally trust it anymore.

    I am one less of the Nigerian that is hopeful for the election. Votes don’t count anymore, we saw the wild spread violence against voters all over the country, intimidation and all sort of harassment. I am very doubtful of the coming election.
