Tinubu ‘Missed Golden Opportunity’ To Restore Democracy In Rivers — Dickson (Independent)
In a recent interview former governor of Bayelsa state Seriake Dickson criticized the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu for not taking advantage of a "golden opportunity" to restore democracy in Rivers state. Dickson argued that Tinubu who was a key figure in the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state could have used his influence to ensure a free and fair election. However Tinubus actions according to Dickson ultimately contributed to the crisis and violence that marred the election. Dickson also expressed disappointment in the APC for not condemning the violence and for their lack of commitment to upholding democracy in the country.
