Honestly I don’t know what the outrage about Tunde’s visit to the president is. He runs an NGO and he has stated many times that he’s not interested in politics. And public figures should be allowed to make whatever choice they want.

  • 2) Onakoya’s visit has drew criticism. Do we sometimes forget that meeting leaders can be about impact, not politics?

Exactly, not every visit to political leaders is about politics. Tunde has been an important part of child development and empowerment scheme for a while now. Not every visit is political.

  • 4) The backlash over Onakoya’s visit raises a question. Can public figures meet officials today without it seeming political?

Honestly not in this Nigeria. Everybody politicize everything especially those who are public figures. And yes public figures can meet officials without it seeming political but not many people think that way in this country.

  • 5) Now that this story is trending, How can public figures work with those in power but still stay independent?
