Which one is flash floods or high tide, what was Lagos thinking when they decided to start sand filling everywhere and giving the places beautiful names. Of course, there will be repercussion.

  • 2) As floods hit Lagos more often, Is the government really preparing the city for climate challenges?
  • 3) Truly Nature plays a part, But should poor planning and drainage also share the blame for Lagos flooding?

Exactly, nature plays it part sometimes but we cannot leave out the fact that many of Lagos water channels and drainages are blocked. And things like this contribute greatly to flooding.

  • 4) If sea levels keep rising, What’s the future for a coastal city like Lagos and what can be done now to protect it?

I think sand filling water bodies in Lagos all in the name of real estate is not good enough. You can never cheat nature, how can you sand fill or block water channels just to build houses and think flooding won’t happen? The Lagos government should take it easy with this plan of theirs of taming the Atlantic Ocean.
