The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed concern over the increasing rate of drug abuse in Akwa Ibom state. The agency reported that the state has the highest number of drug abuse cases in the country with a significant number of young people involved. The NDLEA has attributed this trend to the easy availability of drugs lack of awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and peer pressure. The agency has called for collaboration between the government parents and community leaders to address this issue and protect the youth from the devastating effects of drug abuse on their health and future.
