Drug abuse now a national emergency, pharmacists tell Tinubu (Punch)
Pharmacists in Nigeria have declared that drug abuse has become a national emergency and called on the government to take urgent action. Speaking at a national conference the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa highlighted the alarming increase in drug abuse among youths and the negative impact it has on society. He urged the government to implement stricter laws and policies to regulate the availability and distribution of drugs as well as increase awareness and education on the dangers of drug abuse. The pharmacists also called for collaboration between healthcare professionals and law enforcement agencies to tackle this growing problem.
