Senator Natasha Akpoti has announced that she will be returning to the Senate on Tuesday following a court verdict that upheld her candidacy for the Kogi Central Senatorial District election. The senator had been disqualified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for allegedly submitting false information in her nomination form. However the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled in her favor stating that she had fulfilled all necessary requirements to contest in the election. Senator Akpoti expressed her gratitude for the courts decision and stated that she is ready to resume her duties in the Senate and represent the people of Kogi Central.
