The recent defection of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns about the political future of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who is eyeing the position of governor in the state. Omo-Agege who is a member of the APC has been a vocal critic of Okowas administration and has been seen as a strong contender for the governorship position. With Okowas defection there are fears that Omo-Ageges chances may be threatened as he may face stiff competition within his own party. However some political analysts believe that Omo-Ageges strong grassroots support may still give him an edge in the upcoming elections.
