Serie A postpones all fixtures following death of Pope Francis

The Serie A Italys top football league has announced the postponement of all fixtures following the death of Pope Francis. The Pope who was a huge football fan and a supporter of Serie A team San Lorenzo passed away on Saturday at the age of 84. The leagues decision to postpone matches was made as a sign of respect for the Pope and his love for the sport. This is not the first time Serie A has postponed matches for a significant event as they did the same when former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi passed away in 2020. The league is expected to resume after the Popes funeral.
