He made this statement in response to the ongoing debate about the dominance of Fulanis in Nigeria and the recent rise in violence and killings by Fulani herdsmen. Oyedepo emphasized that Nigeria belongs to all its citizens regardless of their ethnicity and that no particular group has the right to claim ownership of the country. He also called for unity and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups in Nigeria.
