MLC polls: NDA’s Alapati Rajendra Prasad wins Krishna Guntur graduates constituency

In the recent MLC polls in Andhra Pradesh NDA candidate Alapati Rajendra Prasad emerged as the winner in the Krishna-Guntur Graduates constituency. The counting of votes took place on Thursday and Prasad secured a total of 33000 votes defeating his nearest rival YSRCPs Vennapusa Gopal Reddy by a margin of 6000 votes. The elections were held on March 14 and saw a voter turnout of 80%. This victory is seen as a major boost for the NDA in the state as they were able to win a seat in a region that has traditionally been dominated by the ruling YSRCP.
