Backlash as Kebbi lawmakers donate 25 vehicles to Tinubus 2027 campaign (Daily Trust)

As for President Tinubu his contributions to the development of Kebbi State cannot be overstated” he said.Civil society organisations and opposition parties in Kebbi State have raised concerns over the state House of Assemblys donation of 25 vehicles to the Tinubu/Kaura 2 Terms (TKT) campaign group. The vehicles estimated to cost between N3.5 million and N6 million each were handed over by the Speaker of the House as a fulfillment of a pledge made during the groups inauguration in 2025. The Speaker defended the donation citing Governor Idriss performance and President Tinubus support for the state. However critics argue that the donation is a misuse of public funds and raises questions about the independence of the assembly. They also question the need for such a donation three years before the next election.
