They criticized the special federal executive council meeting held in Buhari’s honor as a “political theatre” and a “PR stunt.” The party also accused the government of distancing itself from Buharis policies only to now align with his legacy for the upcoming 2019 elections. The ADC called on Nigerians to not fall for the governments manipulative tactics and to demand real change. The statement also highlighted the governments alleged use of Buharis son Yusuf to perform a staged tribute for the cameras.
